MWC 2020 cancelled due Coronavirus

Barcelona, 12/02/2020.

We’ve multiple times announced we would be present at the Mobile World Congress 2020. Unfortunately, due medical circumstances concerning the Coronavirus, the board canceled the world’s biggest mobile congress. The number of coronavirus infections exceeded 42000 and isn’t under control yet.

Here’s a part of the official statement of the CEO John Hoffman:
With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has cancelled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event.

Even though, it’s a shame the Mobile World Congress can’t take place, we are fully behind the decision. If there’s any risk concerning the health of the attendees it’s better to cancel the entire congress preventing the virus to throw even more chaos.
